What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead by example as you supervise and schedule gas bar staff, ensuring they are well-trained, confident, and committed to delivering high-quality customer service.
- Support team members in providing exceptional service, whether that means helping a customer fuel up, clean their windows, or pop the hood to check oil and washer fluid levels.
- Make sure everything’s ready to go each day: from setting up window-washing stations and air hoses to recording propane tank levels and ensuring all merch is stocked and displayed.
- Take ownership of inventory: from ordering and receiving to keeping stock levels right where they need to be.
- Stay on top of sales performance, identifying trends and finding opportunities to grow revenue and improve efficiency.
- Keep everything safe, compliant, and running smoothly by following all health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints with a cool head and a helpful attitude.
- Work closely with the Co-op management team to help implement new ideas and strategies for improvement.
- Jump in with general housekeeping tasks as needed. This includes cleaning bathrooms, sweeping, tidying up, emptying garbage, or even shoveling snow. It’s all part of keeping things safe and welcoming.
- Ensure accurate pricing and signage through regular audits and checks.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Completion of Grade 12 (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in retail or gas bar supervision.
- Strong team leadership skills: you know how to motivate, delegate, and get the best out of people.
- Top-notch communication and a genuine commitment to outstanding customer service.
- Solid knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations.
- A good grasp of inventory and sales management.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
