BOND|ST Event Centre is an iconic venue with a rich history, originally constructed for the GM United Auto Workers Union Local 222 and acquired by The Sacco Group in 1996. Over the years, it has housed various tenants, including The Dungeon and Lazer Quest, before being revitalized and renamed in 2020. Our mission is to preserve the building's historical integrity while contributing to the vibrant arts, culture, and entertainment scene in Downtown Oshawa. Job Overview
We are seeking a talented Freelance Audio Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of delivering outstanding audio/visual experiences for a variety of events, from intimate gatherings to large-scale productions.
Duties
- Expertly manage both large and small-scale audio systems.
- Loading/unloading of trucks, event setups, teardowns, ensuring smooth client experiences, and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Ensure accurate setup and efficient operation of advanced AV equipment with specialized skills.
- Work closely with Project Managers and, when necessary, supervise and direct other technicians during events. Confidently set up PA systems, microphones, cables, and operate AV equipment.
Required Skills:
- 5+ Years of experience
- Strong knowledge of setting up and operating various audio-visual equipment.
- Comprehensive understanding of different types of AV equipment and their functions.
- Ensuring proper functioning of AV systems with meticulous attention to detail.
- Capable of troubleshooting technical issues and providing timely solutions.
- Ability to interact effectively with a diverse workforce, customer base, and senior-level management.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Experience in managing multiple tasks and initiatives.
- Customer Engagement: Strong skills in engaging with clients, customers, and co-workers.
- Excellent communication to collaborate with event organizers and presenters.
- Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability, and initiative for assigned tasks.
- Willingness to work a rotating schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift 50 lbs.
