Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating forklifts and other heavy equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of materials and products within the facility. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, materials handling, and adherence to safety protocols.
Duties
- Operate forklifts, Reach trucks, Stand Up Forks, Electric Walkie rider and Electric pallet jacks, to load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas.
- Perform order picking using RF scanners to ensure accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and compliance with OHS regulations.
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes, ensuring that all incoming and outgoing shipments are handled efficiently.
- Collaborate with warehouse management to maintain an organized storage system and optimize space utilization.
- Execute heavy lifting tasks as required, ensuring safety practices are followed at all times.
- Support warehouse supervisor in training new staff on equipment operation and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements within the warehouse management system.
Experience
- Previous experience in warehouse distribution or similar environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, including cranes and forklifts, is essential.
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques and safety regulations is required.
- Experience with order picking processes and shipping & receiving operations is advantageous.
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment maintenance is a plus.
- Prior experience as a warehouse supervisor or in a leadership role is beneficial but not mandatory.
