Our branch in Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ) is looking for full time Foreign Exchange Tellers. The successful candidate must be fluent in both English and French.
Compensation: $18 - $20 per hour
Main Job Purpose:
The Foreign Exchange Teller is responsible for buying and selling foreign currencies and selling additional products to customers, while providing exceptional customer service at all times. They must be smart and well groomed and always consciously observe the company appearance standards and wear the correct uniform and ID badge at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Buying and selling foreign currencies
- Providing money transfer services
- Up-selling and cross-selling currency and company products
- Provide exceptional customer service in a friendly and efficient manner
- Follow all company and security procedures
- Balance the till accurately
- Ensure recognition of all currencies
- Must have knowledge of all add-on sales i.e. cross selling of products
- Ability to count accurately at speed
- Must aim to promote the services of the Company
- Arrive at contracted times as stipulated by your line manager
- Must be flexible with regards to hours of work
- Must be neat and presentable at all times
- Must keep the work area clean and tidy
- To complete relevant paperwork i.e. till books, difference forms etc.
- Ensure adequate notice is given in advising managers of any sickness, where possible
- Ensure new members of staff have help when possible
- Follow security procedures as laid down by the Company
- To show flexibility with shifts and location changes
- To perform any other tasks which may be reasonably requested for the fulfillment of the role.
Skill Required:
- Counting and adding large numbers in high speed, as well as working with large sums of cash.
- Operating a computer (e.g. Word, Excel, email).
- Verbal and written communication in English and French.
- Customer service.
- Working as a team.
- Problem solving.
- Selling and up-selling of products.
- Ability to sit / stand for long periods of time.
Knowledge Required:
- Foreign currencies, precious metals, phone cards, and travel insurance.
- Banking procedures.
- Anti-Money Laundering Regulations.
The successful candidate will be compensated by hourly wage, performance bonus and commission. Upon successful completion of probation, subject to meeting minimum enrollment requirements, eligible to enroll in benefits plan, which includes extended health and dental, vision care, and RRSP matching plan.
