Do you want to play a vital role in connecting Squamish Nation children and families to essential services and cultural experiences? Ayás Mén̓men Child & Family Services is seeking a responsible Fleet Coordinator - Bus Driver to maintain our vehicle fleet and safely transport our community members. This unique role combines mechanical oversight with direct service, ensuring our children, youth and staff can travel safely to programs, appointments, and cultural events. What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate all fleet operations including maintenance schedules, insurance renewals, and seasonal tire changes
  • Safely transport children, youth, families and staff in vehicles ranging from sedans to 22-passenger buses
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and ensure all buses are clean, fueled and ready for service
  • Maintain detailed records of routes, mileage, maintenance, and driver certifications
  • Provide supervision and guidance during youth outings and camp trips as a Responsible Adult
  • Implement positive behavior support practices to maintain safety during transport
  • Perform basic vehicle maintenance and cleaning (interior/exterior)
  • Follow Squamish Nation policies and ICBC regulations for fleet management
  • Adapt to flexible schedules including evenings/weekends for special events
  • Uphold wenáxws (respect) in all interactions with passengers and colleagues

What We’re Looking For

  • Valid BC Class 4 Driver's License (or willingness to obtain within 3 months)
  • Clean driver's abstract and completion of Defensive Driving course
  • Experience maintaining vehicle fleets and scheduling preventative maintenance
  • Ability to safely operate 16–22 passenger buses in various road conditions
  • Strong organizational skills for record-keeping and scheduling
  • Patience and maturity when working with children/youth and families
  • Cultural humility and respect for Sḵwx̱wú7mesh values, sovereignty, and self-determination
  • Current First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Mechanical aptitude for basic vehicle troubleshooting

Salary: $44,000 - $61,500

Candidates are typically offered compensation between the beginning to the midpoint of the range. We are committed to providing a fair and equitable package that reflects the value an individual brings to the organization.
