We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our administration team as a Financial Aid Officer. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping mature students achieve their goals, detail-oriented, and have strong customer service skills.
The Financial Aid Officer plays a crucial role in supporting students in their pursuit of education by providing financial assistance and guidance. This position involves administering various financial aid programs, assisting students with the application process, and ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
Job duties:
- Assess financial circumstances of students and families, offering guidance on financial aid options, eligibility, and application processes.
- Offer comprehensive support to students and families through various communication channels regarding financial aid policies, admissions procedures, and registration statuses.
- Review and assess financial aid applications, exercising professional judgment to determine necessary adjustments.
- Serve as a MAJOR point of contact to address inquiries and resolve issues concerning financial transactions, acting as a liaison between multiple departments, financial agencies, and government entities.
- Provide academic advisement, crisis intervention referrals, and arrange tutorial support as needed.
- Ensure fair and consistent enforcement of the GPS's policies related to financial aid.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in business or finance from an accredited educational institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous experience within the Private Career College industry is an asset
- Strong orientation towards high-volume, fast-paced, time-sensitive business operations
- Successful in maintaining exemplary customer service levels
- Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize workloads to meet deadlines
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
