Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cook/Chefs to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, strong culinary skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of professional cooking experience in a restaurant or commercial kitchen environment
- Culinary school diploma or equivalent professional experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (Food Handler's certification required)
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency with kitchen equipment
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service hours
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to follow recipes and plating specifications consistently
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Team player with excellent communication skills
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Maintain clean and organized work station throughout service
- Ensure all food is prepared safely and meets quality standards
- Assist with prep work, including chopping vegetables, marinating proteins, and preparing sauces
- Monitor food inventory and communicate needs to kitchen management
- Follow all health department regulations and restaurant policies
- Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service
- Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned
