Now, we look ahead to Mezzo’s next chapter. We are beginning our search for a new Executive Chef—someone who can honour the foundation that he has built while bringing their own vision and culinary excellence to the table.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and innovative Executive Chef to join our leadership team. This is a rare opportunity to take the reins of an established kitchen and shape the next chapter of Mezzo’s culinary journey. As Executive Chef, you will lead all aspects of the kitchen—menu development, team leadership, sourcing, costing, and execution. You’ll work closely with ownership and front-of-house leadership to continue offering an elevated dining experience that blends tradition with creativity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily kitchen operations and culinary team
- Oversee menu planning, development, inventory, food costing, weekly & seasonal specials, and staff management
- Lead and inspire a team of kitchen staff, fostering a culture of collaboration – hire, train & mentor
- Maintain the highest standards of food quality, consistency and presentation
- Follow and enforce compliance with health and safety standards, and food handling protocols
- Collaborate with owners on strategic direction and innovation
- Manage supplier relationships and inventory control
- Uphold Mezzo’s reputation for excellence in service, food, and guest experience
Ideal Candidate:
- 5+ years in a Head Chef or Executive Chef role, preferably in upscale dining
- Strong leadership and kitchen management experience
- Strong background in cooking Italian cuisine and fine ingredients
- Creative and forward-thinking while respecting culinary tradition
- Proven ability to manage food/labour costing, and vendor management
- A team-first mindset and calm, solutions-oriented presence under pressure
