Markert Construction Ltd is a family owned Calgary based excavating company that specializes in earthworks operations including excavation, demolition, road building, septic system and service installation, and more. The bulk of our work is completed on inner city homes as well as acreages located in Calgary and surrounding area. We are seeking a full time heavy equipment operator who is competent with an excavator, dozer, loader as well as skidsteers. Minimum of 3 years experience is required. JOB DUTIES
- Excavator Operator. Must be proficient in residential basement excavations and foundation works
- Loader, Dozer, Skid-steer are an asset
- Must have minimum 3 years experience
- Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances
- Clean, lubricate and perform other minor maintenance work
- Check vehicles before driving them to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order
- Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable provincial and federal regulations
- Assist in loading and unloading of trucks
- Complete all necessary paperwork. May include, but not limited to, daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, hours of service, etc
- REQUIREMENTS
- 5 years’ experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator
- Knowledge of truck and equipment safety
- Knowledge of operation of front end loaders, dozers, Excavators and other pieces of heavy equipment
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance and storage
- Ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance
- Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00-$36.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
