Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in operating heavy equipment, particularly excavators, and will be responsible for executing various tasks related to excavation and site preparation. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices and familiarity with blueprints and survey drawings, safety protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members on-site.
Duties
- Operate excavators and other heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and paving machinery to perform excavation tasks.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Execute horizontal drilling and site preparation activities as required for various construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and other operators to coordinate work schedules and ensure project timelines are met.
- Maintain equipment by performing routine inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs as needed.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while operating machinery on-site.
- Assist in the training of new operators when necessary.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, specifically with excavators.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Familiarity with dozer, loader, backhoe, grader operation, and paving techniques is preferred.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus. Clean driver´s abstract a must.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
