Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Student Engagement and Learning Manager, the Peer Collaboration Assistant - Team Lead will ensure the smooth operation of the collaborative learning space.
Duties
- Take on at least one three-hour Peer Collaboration shift per week throughout the academic year.
- Set-up and take-down materials in the space.
- Greet and welcome attendees.
- Provide general information regarding SciLearn programming and take attendance using an automated scanner.
- Troubleshoot or raise any issues to the immediate supervisor.
- Take inventory of supplies and manage replenishing throughout the term.
- Ensure the space is adequately cleaned and maintained.
- Consolidate attendance data.
- Contribute to program documentation as appropriate.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
- Current McGill undergraduate student; preferable in Science
- Previous experience as a Peer Collaboration Assistant.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365.
- Ability to work independently.
Additional information:
- Each shift will be 3 hours (2:30 to 5:30); therefore, students must be available for this time slot
- Start date of position will be sometime in August but is flexible
Location: This position is located in Montreal, Quebec and the work for this position is expected to be performed in Quebec.
Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 4 on a scale of 0-4.
