Job Description
Nor-Alta Environmental Services Ltd. is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Project Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science and possess excellent analytical skills. This role involves reporting, data analysis, laboratory result interpretation, and milestone and deliverables tracking to support environmental projects. The Project Coordinator will work collaboratively with other professionals to assess environmental conditions and develop strategies for reclamation, remediation, environmental assessments, and drilling waste management projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist with components of project management that include preparing and tracking deliverables, client communication, report preparation, cost tracking, and guidance of junior staff.
- Interpret field notes and laboratory analytical results to assess environmental conditions.
- Collect and interpret laboratory data for various sampling matrices including soil, water, and air.
- Utilize GIS software such as ArcGIS for mapping and spatial analysis.
- Perform research to support environmental assessments and compliance with regulations.
- Develop reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on various environmental projects.
- Maintain accurate records of data collection and analysis processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS) for data visualization and mapping.
- Experience with laboratory data analysis and interpretation is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with field screening techniques and equipment.
- Excellent research skills with the ability to analyze complex datasets effectively.
- Mechanical knowledge related to environmental field equipment is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration and reporting.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team across various environmental departments.
- Preference will be given to applicants with related post-secondary education and eligibility with a professional institution or association (ie. AIA, ASPB, APEGA, etc.)
