Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Language Tutor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be trained and responsible for providing the Simultaneous Multisensory Teaching (SMT) method to students in various grades. SMT is a language re-education approach based on the Orton-Gillingham system, designed to help individuals of all ages with reading, writing, and spelling difficulties. It emphasizes a structured, sequential approach that utilizes all senses (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile) to strengthen the connection between sounds and symbols.
Duties
- Conduct one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions tailored to the individual needs of students.
- Utilize effective teaching strategies to enhance student understanding and engagement.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student performance and progress.
- Create a supportive and motivating atmosphere that promotes confidence in learning.
Skills
- Proficiency in English.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts in an understandable manner.
- Ability to write clear and concise lesson plans and educational materials.
- Familiarity with classroom dynamics and effective tutoring methodologies.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for educating others.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple students' needs effectively.
