Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive and relationship-driven Employer Relations & Business Development Specialist to join our staffing agency team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, securing, and maintaining partnerships with local employers in need of skilled trades talent. You will act as the main point of contact for employers and ensure a smooth hiring experience.
Key Responsibilities: Identify and connect with potential employers in industries such as welding, construction, warehousing, and general labour.
- Conduct in-person visits, phone outreach, and online networking to promote staffing services.
- Understand employer hiring needs and match them with qualified, job-ready candidates.
- Build long-term relationships through excellent communication and follow-through.
- Collaborate with recruiters and trainers to ensure candidate readiness and placement success.
- Source, screen, and interview potential candidates to ensure job fit and readiness.
- Develop talent pipelines for high-demand roles and proactively maintain candidate engagement.
- Maintain a database of employer contacts, candidate profiles, and engagement activities (CRM management).
- Prepare proposals, service agreements, and regular reports on business development and recruitment progress.
- Attend job fairs, networking events, and local business association meetings to grow visibility and recruit candidates.
Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in staffing, recruiting, or B2B sales (staffing industry preferred).
- Strong knowledge of skilled trades or industrial labour markets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and comfortable with cold calling, in-person visits, and interviewing candidates.
- Familiarity with CRM software, ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems), LinkedIn, and lead generation tools.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for local travel.
Nice to Have: Background in skilled trades, industrial sales, or HR services.
Bilingual (English + Punjabi/Hindi) is an asset.
