Emergency Department Customer Service Representative
The Customer Service Representative (CSR) plays a key role in delivering an exceptional client experience while providing vital administrative support across the hospital.
Responsibilities:
- Client Communication: Serve as the first point of contact for clients, answering phone calls, emails, and inquiries promptly and courteously.
- Emergency Walk in Scheduling: Manage emergency walk ins, creating a profile for the client and patient and assigning the patient to the correct doctor.
- Client Education: Provide accurate information regarding services, procedures, and pricing, fostering trust and confidence in the hospital's expertise.
- Emergency Response: Coordinate emergency cases by gathering necessary information, triaging cases based on urgency, and facilitating immediate care for critical patients.
- Administrative Support: Maintain client records, update patient files, and assist with billing inquiries and insurance claims, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with hospital policies.
- Conflict Resolution: Address client concerns or complaints with empathy and professionalism, escalating issues to the appropriate channels when necessary to ensure swift resolution.
- Collaboration: Work closely with veterinary staff, technicians, and other departments to coordinate patient care, relay important information, and maintain seamless communication across the hospital.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and hospital protocols through ongoing training and professional development initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in customer service or client-facing roles, preferably in a healthcare or veterinary environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly and empathetic demeanor.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency in computer systems and software, including scheduling and electronic medical records platforms.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures is desirable but not required (training will be provided).
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, in accordance with the hospital's 24/7 operation.
