Made the Grade Photography (www.madethegrade.ca) is a fairly new entry into the volume photography market in the lower mainland. We've been well received because of our fresh style of photography and lighting setups specifically designed to highlight the youth and energy of our elementary clientele. We provide school administrators and teachers with a smooth, easy and fun picture day experience, and parents with amazing portraiture that stands apart from the school portraiture of yesteryear.

Summary
We have a small and dedicated team of photographers working with us that return each and every year - because it's a lot of fun! We're hoping to find our next photographer (or two) - someone who embodies the very essence of courtesy, respect and energy. An applicant for this position should be dependable, punctual, and love working with children in the elementary age group. They should have their own vehicle (or access to one), and they should have control over their fall months to ensure availability to help out with our growing list of schools (a seasonal schedule will be provided well in advance).
Responsibilities
- Engage with elementary students to create a positive and enjoyable atmosphere during picture day.
- Help to transport photo gear in and out of elementary schools.
- Help to setup photo stations (background, lights, camera)
- Photograph elementary aged students within time limitations (aiming for 40 seconds/student).
- Recognize common issues with lighting/posing to make necessary adjustments.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with elementary aged children in a positive environment.
- A vehicle, or dependable transportation to and from each picture day.
- A positive attitude and enthusiasm for creating memorable experiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with young students.
Experience with photography is valued, though absolutely not essential. All necessary training will be provided. An ideal candidate will have that special kind of energy - the type of energy that puts children at ease and helps them enjoy their picture day.

Pay: $26.00-$28.00 per hour
