We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Coordinator to support and promote a strong safety culture throughout our facility. The EHS Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations, as well as implementing and maintaining our company’s EHS programs and policies. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, programs, and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal regulations.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Assist in the investigation of all workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and develop and track corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate and conduct EHS training for new hires and existing employees on topics such as WHMIS, lockout/tagout, emergency response, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain all EHS documentation, including training records, inspection reports, and incident investigation files.
- Act as a key member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC), including participating in meetings, conducting inspections, and following up on action items.
- Assist with the management of workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through continuous communication and engagement with employees at all levels.
- Stay current with new and changing EHS legislation and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Experience in an EHS role, preferably in a hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and regulations.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and standards is an asset.
- Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Certification as a Certified Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or working towards it is considered an asset.
