POSITION: Education Assistant
LOCATION: Wagalus Elementary School
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Education Assistant Certificate or equivalent preferred, Grade 12 Dogwood Diploma, First Aid and CPR, Food Safe Certificate and clear criminal record check
Experience: working with First Nations children, the BC Curriculum, and knowledge of the Kwak’wala language and culture is an asset
Personal qualities: patient, kind, and a sense of humour, with high standards of work ethic, emotional stability, good physical stamina and high energy to work with children
JOB DESCRIPTION:
M-F: 8:30 am-3:00 pm
Duties: Education Assistants (EAs) provide a variety of educational support services to students under the direction of the principal and the classroom teacher. They also work closely and cooperatively with the special education teacher. The EA is a visible and active member of the education team at Wagalus Elementary School.
