ECE-A as Junior Kindergarten Assistant Teacher - Junior School Full Time Starting August 25, 2025

Brockton School is seeking to employ an ECE-A as a Junior Kindergarten Assistant Teacher for the 2025-26 school year. The assistant teacher will work collaboratively with a teaching partner, with members of the JK-Grade 5 PYP team, and with other members of Faculty/Staff. As a member of the teaching team, this teacher will report to the Divisional Director and to the PYP Coordinator.

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Places student needs at the center of decision making
• Brings different perspectives, voices, and worldviews to the classroom learning experience, including those of Indigenous, local, and global populations
• Promotes a safe and inclusive environment through strong relationship building and classroom management
• Supports the planning, organization, and implementation of engaging lessons
• Fosters a love of learning and an environment that encourages all students to develop and fulfill their academic potential
• Regular communication with the lead teacher regarding student observations, student progress, and student behaviours
• Collaborates with teaching partner(s) and the PYP coordinator
• Attends staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and serves on committees as required
• Involvement in extended day programming activities
• Models behaviours, attitudes, and principals for students in all contexts
• Follows licensing regulations and the Junior Kindergarten Handbook
Other duties as assigned by the divisional Principal

• ECE-A registration
• Legal standing to work in Canada
• Valid First Aid certificate
• IB experience or training (preferred)
• Minimum of two years of experience working with early years aged children
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• High EQ skills, possess the ability to be self-aware
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and administrative skills
The ability to work independently and as a collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills
