Kootenay Kids Society is seeking a qualified candidate for the regular position of Early Childhood Educator Senior Supervisor at the new 11th Street Child Care Centre.
Under the supervision of the Director of Children’s Services, the Early Childhood Educator Senior Supervisor will lead a team of Early Childhood Educators that are responsible for all aspects of planning, implementing and evaluating a comprehensive, age-appropriate program for children in their care. The senior supervisor will provide leadership and guidance for volunteers and students. They will ensure all programming and practices align with the childcare centre’s philosophies, policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Ø Registered Early Childhood Education certificate in BC
Ø 2 years of recent experience working in the ECE profession including group childcare setting
Ø Current, recognized First Aid Certificate
Ø Demonstrated knowledge of the BC Early Learning Framework and its practical application
Ø Well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Ø Good organizational and leadership skills
Ø Clean Criminal Records Check (completed upon hiring)

Funded largely by government contracts, we deliver a wide range of programs and services including licensed childcare, Indigenous family programs, resources for childcare providers, physiotherapy and occupational therapy for young children, parent education programs, and opportunities for families to meet socially and connect with each other.
