This position requires travel between our various locations, so a strong understanding of public transit or a reliable vehicle is essential. We are seeking a Early Childhood Educator's Assistant to join our team as a substitute educator to service all of our locations across Greater Victoria for the summer, with a potential for extension based on operational needs. This role is ideal for someone wanting to learn more about the field of early childhood education as you will get the chance to work with over 45 different educators across 8 locations.
Duties
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that encourages learning through play and exploration.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational experience and share best practices in early childhood education.
- Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their independence and self-confidence.
- Engage thoughtfully with children and families in a professional manner.
- Classroom management and behavioral guidance skills are essential to supporting a classroom.
Requirements
- A valid BC ECEA license is a must.
- Experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English a must.

Contract length: 2 - 3 months
Pay: $20.00-$21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 34 – 42.5 per week
