Ruff and Puff is Hiring a Bus Driver & Dog Handler (Employee Role)
Who is Ruff and Puff?
You may have seen us on the news, social media, or driving around! We are the original dog bus, created about five years ago. With a strong social media presence (1.5 million+ followers across our platforms), we’re looking for someone reliable, kind, and confident handling groups of dogs—who can also drive a small bus.
This position is for someone with professional dog handling experience and a clean driving record. You’ll be working with our Ruff and Puff team to safely transport dogs to and from their park adventure.

We are looking for someone who meets the following qualifications:
Driving Requirements:
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required
- Class 4 license is a strong asset
- Comfortable and experienced with driving a short school bus (we’ll provide training)
- Clean driver’s abstract (no major infractions)
Professional Dog Handling Experience:
- Must have experience working with dogs in a professional setting (e.g., dog daycare, walking, training, rescue, etc.)
- Confident managing groups of off-leash dogs
Soft Skills:
- Reliable and calm under pressure
- Great with both dogs and their humans
- Tech-savvy enough to use a phone for check-ins, photos, and simple forms
- Fluent in English and legally eligible to work in Canada
Bonus Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Pet First Aid certification
- Dog training certifications
- Experience creating social media content (Instagram stories, Reels, etc.)
- Creative eye for capturing fun dog moments
Daily Responsibilities Include:
- Driving the Ruff and Puff bus for pickups and drop-offs
- Loading and unloading dogs safely and calmly
- Supervising dogs during transport and at the park
- Managing group dynamics and handling occasional behavioral issues
- Using your phone to check dogs in and out, complete report cards, and snap photos
- Cleaning up after dogs at the park
- Assisting with occasional social media content
Hours:
- Starting part-time: 15–23 hours per week
- Expanding to full-time: 30–40 hours per week
- Monday to Friday (some weekend availability may be required in the future)
- Start date: ASAP
Compensation:
- $23.00–$25.00/hour, depending on experience and training
- Employee position (you will be driving our insured and maintained bus)
