We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Dishwasher/ Kitchen Helper to join our culinary team. The 2025 position will run from the June 11 to August 23. We offer a great way to earn and save money over the summer! Successful candidates must be able to work independently, part of a team, and must be authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis.
POSITION SUMMARY
As part of the kitchen team, you will be a key player in providing a safe and clean kitchen environment. You will be responsible for keeping the dish station organized and assist the rest of the team by cleaning all the prep equipment, silverware, glassware, dishes, staff fridge, storage areas, and any miscellaneous items according to sanitation requirement. You will also keep the staff and guest dining areas clean, and beverages/dry snacks, fruit, and bread restocked. The kitchen team will finish their shift and leave together after all their closing duties are complete.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Rinse and load dishes into sanitation machine – staff, guest, pot sink – in a timely
- manner
- Drain, clean, and sanitize dishwasher and Salvajor
- Wash and sanitize all pots, pans, utensils, and dishes
- Clean pot sink and wipe down hand washing sink
- Keep dishwasher area clean and organized
- Refill staff snack station – fruit, bread, cereal etc.
- Wipe: staff buffet line shelves, staff tables, and condiments on staff tables
- Wipe and restock coffee area
- Clean staff fridge, everything must be labelled and dated
- Clean and wipe the microwave in mudroom
- Restock kitchen inventory from storage
- Refill paper towels and soap dispensers – kitchen bathroom, mudroom, pot sink
- Clean mudroom – take out garbage and recycling, wipe sink, sweep and wash floor
- Sweep: dry storage area, staff dining room
- Refill all cleaning and sanitation chemicals
- Duties
- Assist cooks and chefs with food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, measuring ingredients, and assembling dishes.
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
- Help organize and stock kitchen supplies, ensuring that all ingredients are readily available for meal preparation.
- Follow food safety and handling guidelines to ensure the highest standards of hygiene are maintained.
- Support the cooking staff during busy service times by providing timely assistance as needed.
- Clean kitchen equipment and utensils after use to maintain a safe working environment.
- Participate in inventory management by reporting low stock levels of food items or supplies.
- Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not required; we welcome those eager to learn.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and food handling safety practices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to help wherever needed in the kitchen.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving supplies.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Pay: $4,800.00-$5,000.00 per month
