The ideal candidate for this position is a passionate and engaged cook with a love of food, combined with the flexibility to support kitchen operations as a dishwasher. You will have some previous cooking experience, preferably in Italian cuisine, be capable of taking direction well, multitasking effectively, and thrive in a busy production team. You are a positive role model of professionalism and teamwork.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prep Cook:
- Prep and assemble ingredients for production
- Collaborate with parallel departments to ensure production needs are met
- Be a team player and foster strong morale within the culinary team
- Manage time efficiently, ensuring prep lists are executed
- Manage inventory and rotate stock according to procedures
- Maintain standards for food storage, rotation, quality, and appearance
- Ensure compliance with health codes and regulations
- Follow maintenance and cleaning schedules for equipment, storage, and work areas
- Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts
- Ensure the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of your shift
Dishwasher:
- Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, and utensils promptly and thoroughly
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations and kitchen areas
- Assist with general kitchen cleaning, including floors, counters, and storage areas
- Sort and dispose of waste and recyclables properly
- Support kitchen team during slower periods as needed
- Follow health and safety regulations related to sanitation and hygiene
REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent communication skills
- Passion for food
- Minimum 2 years of professional cooking experience
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen
- Strong teamwork ethic and positive attitude
- Food Handler Certification (required)
- Willingness to work early mornings with a 6 am start
