Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cook/Dishwasher to join our team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and hospitality, with the ability to assist in food preparation while maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. This role is essential in ensuring that our culinary operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Put inventory and deliveries away in proper locations
- Maintain a clean environment
- Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment promptly.
- Ensure all food handling practices comply with health and safety regulations.
- Help maintain inventory levels of kitchen supplies and report any shortages to management.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Clean workstations, floors, and other areas of the kitchen as needed to uphold hygiene standards.
- Will primarily be a dishwashing role, ensuring pots, pans, plates etc are cleaned and properly stored
- Putting inventory away properly, must be able to lift 40 pounds
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of food handling and safety practices is essential.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment with strong communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new cooking techniques and recipes.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform tasks that require lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds.
- A positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent hospitality in a restaurant or hotel setting.
