Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to join our culinary team. This role is essential in supporting the kitchen staff in various tasks to ensure a smooth and efficient food preparation process. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and hospitality, with a willingness to learn and grow within the kitchen environment.
Duties
- Assist in food preparation by washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting ingredients as directed by the cook or chef.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
- Ensure that all food handling procedures are followed according to safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Help with stocking supplies and ingredients as needed to keep the kitchen running efficiently.
- Support cooks during meal service by preparing garnishes and assisting with plating as required.
- Participate in cleaning tasks at the end of shifts, ensuring that all surfaces are sanitized and ready for the next day’s operations.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive work environment focused on quality service.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is highly preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of basic food handling practices is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team setting.
- Flexibility to assist with various tasks as needed throughout the kitchen operations.
