Private In-Home position providing care and support to young disabled woman in her home 18 km north of Lethbridge.
Seeking caring, energetic female Disability Support Workers to develop a caring, trusting relationship with this individual to support her in improving her abilities, pursuing goals, maximizing independence and enjoying quality of life.
RESPONSIBILITIES
PERSONAL CARE-Provide or assist with full personal care including dressing, personal hygiene, feeding etc.
TRANSFERS AND MOBILITY-Standing transfers are required several times per shift. On-the-job training provided. Client uses manual wheelchair.
THERAPY PROGRAM AND ACTIVITIES-Support and assist with her rehab program including Neuro-therapy; Equine Therapy; ROM; Fitness Program; Cognitive exercises etc. Training is provided by therapists and co-workers.
Support client in activities she enjoys such as painting, gardening etc.
DAILY LIVING SKILLS-Provide assistance and support.
ACCOMPANY to and provide support with community and social activities and healthcare appointments.
LIGHT HOUSEKEEPING-Provide or assist with household tasks-cooking, laundry, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
Friendly, compassionate female worker with desire to serve and support others and committed to providing long-term quality care
Disability Support and/or Personal Care Certificate, or experience in supporting the disabled.
Commitment and ability to learn activities and skills required for Neuro Home Program and Therapy Program with on-the-job training.
Ability to connect with clients interest, and celebrate small accomplishments.
Knowledge and experience with Acquired Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury an asset
Valid Alberta Drivers License and Drivers Abstract
Valid First Aid Certificate
Experience with horses an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00-$22.00 per hour
