WorkTango is an award-winning Employee Experience platform that helps leaders and organizations improve employee engagement, increase retention, and boost performance while reducing costs with Employee Surveys and Recognition & Rewards software.
WorkTango’s holistic platform offers two distinct, but complementary solutions.
Surveys & Insights makes it easy for organizations to measure engagement and ensure every employee feels heard through unlimited surveys across the entire employee lifecycle. Leaders gain insight into employee sentiment through robust dashboards and insights, and are empowered to drive meaningful change with recommended action plans.
Recognition & Rewards enables organizations to scale and automate manual recognition & rewards practices, track and control costs, and create a continuous culture of appreciation through company-wide recognition.
WorkTango is built for the workplace we all want to be a part of – where teams accomplish great things, achievements are celebrated, and employees have a voice.
Please Note: We are not currently considering applicants in CA, MT, VT, and Puerto Rico for this position.
Overview of the role:
We’re seeking a strategic and accomplished Marketing Director to lead our product and customer marketing initiatives, with a strong operational and demand generation mindset. This role is pivotal in shaping how WorkTango's solutions are perceived in the market and how our existing customers derive maximum value. You will champion the customer journey, from product adoption and retention to advocacy and growth, while ensuring our marketing efforts are highly effective and scalable.
In this hands-on leadership role, you will collaborate extensively with Product, Implementation, Customer Success, and Sales to enhance the customer experience and drive measurable business outcomes. You will report directly to the CMO and have a team of 2-3 direct reports.
The awesome stuff you’ll do in this role:
Own Product Storytelling & Go-to-Market: Partner closely with the Product team to define compelling product positioning and messaging that resonates with our target audience, and lead the launch of new products and features to both prospects and existing customers.
Drive Customer Growth & Engagement: Develop and execute targeted, comprehensive customer marketing initiatives that boost product adoption and usage while identifying opportunities to expand customer relationships through lifecycle, upsell, and cross-sell campaigns.
Champion Customer Advocacy: Build and manage a robust customer advocacy program to generate powerful testimonials, case studies, and references, leveraging these successes to attract new prospects and support brand initiatives (e.g., review campaigns, press releases, social media).
Scale Customer Communications & Enablement: Strategize and oversee all customer-focused communications, including newsletters, drip campaigns, in-app messaging, and platform notices, ensuring they are programmed for maximum impact. Create customized enablement tools (slide decks, case studies, email templates, videos, thought leadership) to support customer retention, upsell, and cross-sell.
Optimize Demand Generation Support: Collaborate with Demand Gen and Sales teams to ensure seamless lead nurturing and post-program follow-up, applying data-driven approaches and A/B testing to continuously improve conversion rates and ROI.
Enhance Marketing Operations: Support the end-to-end project management of key marketing programs and integrated campaigns, budget tracking & optimization, ensuring efficient execution, streamlined workflows, and clear communication across multiple teams.
Provide Strategic Insights: Utilize strong analytical skills to measure the impact of marketing activities on pipeline and revenue, guiding continual optimization and data-driven decision-making across all marketing efforts.
Thoughtfully Leverage AI: WorkTango has embraced AI capabilities in our platform, but also the way we operate. We expect AI to be leveraged to support the velocity and impact of the team’s efforts.
What you’ll need to be successful in this role:
5 to 7 years’ overall experience in a SaaS B2B marketing role, with a significant portion (2-4 years specialized) in customer marketing, lifecycle marketing, or product marketing.
Proven experience building customer marketing programs from the ground up, including vision, strategy, goal setting, roadmap development, and ongoing maintenance.
Strong experience developing and executing comprehensive demand generation strategies and integrated multi-channel campaigns.
Deep expertise in marketing operations, including project management, A/B testing, KPI measurement, and optimizing marketing activities for pipeline and ROI.
Exceptional written communication skills, with a creative flair for positioning unique products.
A natural ability to connect and build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders across diverse teams.
Results-oriented, highly organized, and decisive, with the initiative to prioritize projects and adjust strategies as needed.
Extensive experience with CRM and Marketing Automation platforms, including Salesforce.com, HubSpot Marketing Hub (and ideally Operations Hubs), Pendo (or other in-app messaging platforms), and project management tools like Monday.com.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets for data analysis.
HubSpot Marketing Hub Software Certification preferred.
Previous experience in a SaaS business or Human Resources technology is a strong plus.
Minimal travel required for customer stories, industry events, and team activities (~10%).
