We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Director of Manufacturing to join our team in Edmonton. The Director of Manufacturing at BGE is a leadership position responsible for operational excellence, productivity, and strategic growth within the organization’s manufacturing team. This position integrates manufacturing performance with BGE’s strategic objectives, fostering a culture of excellence and high achievement. The Director will implement safety protocols, introduce new technologies, and optimize production processes for efficiency. The Director will lead a cross-functional team to ensure consistent delivery of quality products, cost-effectiveness, and continuous improvement. This individual plays a key role in advancing BGE’s mission, safety and core values within the production environment.
The day-to-day activities of our Director of Manufacturing will include:
- Strategic Focus – Develop and execute long-term manufacturing strategies that align with BGE’s organizational objectives. Set performance goals and lead transformational initiatives to enhance production capability, scalability, and agility.
- Reporting and Analytics – Design and manage annual business plans, departmental KPIs, and operating budgets. Monitor key performance indicators to ensure the achievement of production targets and continuous operational improvements.
- Coaching a diverse team – Build and sustain a strong, values-driven culture focused on safety, accountability, respect, and collaboration. Mentor and lead a cross-functional team, fostering engagement and professional development.
- Safety Leadership – Champion a proactive safety culture across all manufacturing operations. Lead the enhancement and enforcement of safety programs, conduct regular risk assessments, and ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety regulations.
- Transformation Change Agent – Serve as the subject matter expert for Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation, collaborating with the ERP team during discovery, future state design, and execution.
- Teamwork and Continuous Improvement – Oversee manufacturing operations to ensure strict adherence to quality management systems, safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and internal standards. Lead root-cause analysis and corrective action processes as needed.
- 10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing leadership roles, with a record of enhancing efficiency, productivity, and team performance.
- Demonstrated proficiency in operational acumen, strategic management, and change management, with a background in overseeing complex production environments.
- Experience with implementing new ERP systems, specifically Microsoft Dynamics 365 will be an asset.
