Northwestel is seeking a visionary and technically skilled Director, Connectivity & Infrastructure to lead the design, implementation, and management of our network infrastructure and capital projects. Reporting to the Vice President, Network Technology, this role is pivotal in shaping the future of telecommunications in the North through strategic leadership, engineering excellence, and operational oversight.

Specific Accountabilities

Lead the strategic planning, design, and execution of complex network infrastructure projects across multiple technologies. Oversee capital and operational budgets while managing a multidisciplinary team. Ensure network capacity meets current and future demands, drive continuous improvement in project delivery, and uphold professional engineering standards. Foster innovation, mentor team members, and promote a strong culture of safety and compliance.

Knowledge and Skills Required

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (P.Eng preferred) with 7–10 years of experience in IP/MPLS, telecommunications, civil, or power engineering, including 3+ years in technical leadership. Demonstrated expertise in managing complex projects and multidisciplinary teams. Strong skills in analysis, project management, communication, and negotiation. Proven ability to simplify complex technical concepts and lead innovation in network architecture. Familiarity with health and safety program elements is an asset.
