Salary: $27.82/hr

Benefits: In accordance with Collective Agreement

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday

Position Status: Up to 1 continuing, full-time

The Desk Attendant will be the first point of customer contact at the Moncrief Construction Sports Centre and will be responsible for greeting customers and visitors in a friendly, professional manner and directing the visitor to the appropriate person if required. Responsible for delivering customer service in all front-line duties including reception, cashier, registration and membership accounts. Delivers a wide range of information on recreation services that are customer-focused and cost-efficient. The successful candidate will be responsible for cash handling, light cleaning, and other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Must have Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one (1) year receptionist/switchboard experience
  • A minimum of one (1) year computer related experience in a work environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Current Standard First Aid Certificate (Red Cross, LSS or St. John Ambulance) or willing to obtain
  • Working knowledge of computers, facsimile machine, and photocopier and switchboards
  • Working knowledge of cash systems with demonstrated competencies
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations specifically concerning the requirements for job hazard analysis and the development of and training on safe work procedures
  • Ability to get along well with others including supervisors, co-workers, members of the public and other partners in service
