Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dentist to join our dental clinic in St Thomas. As a Dentist at One Dental, you will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care, diagnosing and treating oral health issues, and educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices. You will work in a dynamic team environment, maintaining patient records, performing dental procedures, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
- Examine and diagnose patients' dental conditions through clinical examinations, x-rays, and diagnostic tests.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients based on their oral health needs.
- Perform dental procedures including cleanings, fillings, extractions, root canals, crowns, and other restorative treatments.
- Prescribe medications as necessary for pain management, infection control, or other dental health concerns.
- Provide preventive dental care, including educating patients on proper brushing, flossing, and diet.
Dental Health Education:
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventative care, and post-treatment care.
- Counsel patients on long-term care of their teeth and gums to ensure continued health.
Treatment Administration:
- Administer local anesthesia and sedation as required for dental procedures.
- Manage patient pain during procedures and provide aftercare advice.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment details and outcomes.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with dental hygienists, dental assistants, and other team members to provide comprehensive care.
- Supervise and mentor junior dental staff, including dental hygienists and assistants.
Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to Ontario’s Public Health Standards and infection control protocols.
- Ensure compliance with the Ontario Dental Association guidelines and the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on health and safety regulations, including sterilization techniques, workplace safety, and other relevant guidelines.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain patient charts and medical records accurately, ensuring patient confidentiality.
- Provide treatment estimates and manage patient insurance claims or billing.
- Participate in regular continuing education and professional development to stay current with advancements in the dental field.
Qualifications: -
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school
- Valid state dental license in good standing
- Experience working in a dental office setting
- Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM technology for restorative dentistry is a plus

Wages and Benefits:
- $70,000 – $150,000 yearly.
