1 ‑ Temporary Full Time ‑ Cyclotron Associate
Cyclotron‑Radiopharmacy

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Cyclotron Associate may be assigned to Microbiology department.
The Microbiologist will be responsible, in accordance with the licence and radiation safety programs, to ensure that
the microbiology testing and production requirements are met.
The Cyclotron Associate may operate synthesis units for the production of radiopharmaceuticals for human use and
may be responsible for the final testing of any radiopharmaceuticals prior to them being released for human use. All
tests carried out will be done through adherence to strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and release criteria
which must be documented for regulatory compliance. In this role, you will ensure that the requirements of
preventative maintenance, radiation safety and Health Canada licensing commitments are met.
Employment Requirements:
* Ideally a Masters in Chemical engineering, Biology, or a related science
* Experience with microbiological assays including product sterility testing
* Safety conscious individual with general knowledge of radiation safety and CNSC regulations
* Experience working with testing/analytical or production equipment
* Experience working in industrial/pharmaceutical lab
* Experience working in a GMP environment or clean room
* Proven ability to document activities and keep accurate records
* General knowledge of PERs, Positron Emitting tomogrophy (PET) and Single Photon Emitting Tomography
(SPECT) would be an asset
* Ability to work independently in an "attention to detail" environment
* Experience in the production isotopically labeled compounds an asset
* Conduct microbiological testing including: sterility testing, growth promotion, bioburden testing, and other tests
according to the USP and EP.
* Conduct routine monthly environmental monitoring according to SOPs.
* Understand and work under the Health Canada GMP requirements for sterile pharmaceuticals and the Annex to
the Good Manufacturing Practices Guidelines Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for
Positron Emitting Radiopharmaceuticals (PERs).
* Be responsible for the maintenance of the Cyclotron & Radiopharmacy Microbiology Laboratory according to
Health Canada GMPs, including records, procedures, disposal of waste, materials, equipment, and routine
operations.Conduct inventory and management of microbiological materials.Assist in the closure of CCs, NCs, INVs
and CAPAs as specified in the SOPs.
Salary Range: $41.178 to 48.445
