About Us


The Faculty of Health Sciences is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of seven Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Communication Sciences and Disorders and Food and Nutritional Sciences), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and four Research Centers. The faculty has more than 4,000 undergraduate students and more than 900 graduate students (200 PhD students).

Course Information


Nursing 4410A – Clinical Application: Applying Advanced Care Concepts

With a deeper understanding of the healthcare system and integrating principles of health equity, students engage with clients and families experiencing health/illness challenges. They apply concepts learned throughout the program at an advanced level to work with clients and families as members within the interprofessional team.

Responsibilities


You will be responsible for all activities associated with the successful delivery of the course, including but not limited to: developing, preparing, and delivering the course; setting and marking examinations, assessing the academic work of students, and reporting grades.

Candidates must be willing to undertake training as required by the Employer including, but not limited to, training in respect of health and safety, harassment and discrimination, and legislated service standards.

Qualifications


Candidates applying to teach professional practice courses must hold at least a graduate degree in Nursing, possess an active and unrestricted CNO license, and have relevant, up-to-date professional experience and qualifications aligned with the course content. A strong record of successful university-level teaching, particularly in this format, is required. Experience in this teaching format is necessary.

In addition to teaching responsibilities, candidates are expected to collaborate with and provide guidance to other faculty advisors, contributing to a supportive and collegial academic environment.

Course offerings could be assigned to the workload of full-time faculty or to part-time faculty with seniority or preference rights in accordance with the Faculty Collective Agreement, or left unfilled based on operational/enrolment requirements. All positions are subject to budget approval.
