Job Overview
We are a small family business operating in the Golden Horseshoe since 1994 seeking a reliable and efficient Courier Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and packages safely and efficiently while providing excellent customer service. Your regular daily delivery area will be in Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville , Ancaster and Dundas and East cities such as Grimsby and Beamsville toward St Catherine’s. This role requires a strong commitment to timely deliveries and the ability to navigate various routes effectively.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a delivery vehicle to transport packages to designated locations.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery times and any potential delays and pass this info on to dispatch to be arranged.
- Load and unload packages, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Obtain signatures and printed names as well as occasional photos of completed deliveries.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and reliability.
- Manage paperwork related to deliveries.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to coordinate the movement of goods as needed.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
Skills
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
- Experience preferred but not absolutely necessary.
- Ability to handle moving items, including heavy lifting, as required by the job.
- Excellent customer service skills to ensure positive interactions during deliveries.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations can be beneficial in coordinating logistics.
- Valid full G class Ontario Drivers license with a clean drivers abstract provided upon application for employment.
Company vehicle with company phone and gps provided.
Uniform provided and required.
Work boots, gloves, hard hat, dolly, safety vest, clipboard and necessary items required for job provided.
