Looking for a new and exciting job opportunity? We are looking for a Coordinator, Training and Quality Assurance to join our team!
This role is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and on-going management of the department training program for all staff and unionized employees.
What You Will Do
- You will provide day-to-day leadership within the portfolio by developing and maintaining a training program that ensures a curriculum that is current and in accordance with work requirements, legislation, safety standards, TTC policy and industry best practices.
- Lead all department training initiatives and be the subject matter expert on all courses offered through various internal TTC sources including Operation Training Center (OTC), Employee Development, Safety and the Environment, plus external training vendors.
- Work with management and supervisory personnel to determine training needs, including budget forecasts
- Ensure that curriculum development is based on job function needs, legislative requirements and safety standards.
- Forecast training needs and communicate with internal training suppliers to ensure requirements can be satisfied.
- Deliver training sessions and perform training related presentations.
- Prepare printed and electronic training materials, update and revise lesson plans, workbooks, training aids and a variety of teaching materials.
- Identify and assess current and future training and development needs of the department by conducting research including needs analysis, external/internal surveys, review policies, procedures, work methods, safe practices, technical manuals, vendor information, legislation and regulatory requirements related to the work.
- Develop, deliver and implement department-level safety training programs; manage the roll-out of corporate, group and department-level training and development initiatives.
- Additionally, you will develop and manage quality control methods, procedures, targets and objectives as they relate to training for the department, including auditing training courses, coordinating action plans, and developing and publishing performance measures related to quality assurance activities.
- Implement quality control activities to Standard Operating Procedures; develop action plans, responses and performance measures rated to quality assurance activities.
- You will act as department level coordinator for all Learning Management Systems (LMS) / Learning Centre (SAP) issues and activities and provide training and direction to department employees on the use of the LMS / SAP system. This will include participating in any LMS / SAP related learning management project teams and the integration of new LMS / SAP into the department.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?
- The incumbent will have a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
- A certificate in Adult Education, Teacher/Trainer of Adults or Adult Learning & Development is an asset.
- Certification in occupational health and safety technology or Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (CRSP) would also be considered an asset.
- Extensive knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques, as well as monitoring and control methodologies.
- Ability to forecast the training needs of a large department including potential budgetary requirements.
- Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) / Learning Centre (SAP) or similar to track, report, create and deliver training sessions, courses or programs within a large staff and unionized environment.
- Knowledge of the operations and services available through the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development. This includes programs that support apprentices, skilled trades and industry training. In addition, knowledge of technical and safety training mandate by this ministry.
- Strong knowledge of instructional techniques and the ability to effectively deliver a comprehensive range of training programs to diverse groups in classroom ranging in size from small to large groups.
- Highy developed facilitation, analytical and communication skills to deliver safety training to all employees in the department.
- Highly developed problem solving, organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication and presentation skills; ability to motivate people.
- Knowledge of personal computers and computerized applications i.e. Microsoft (Excel, Office, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word).
- Strong knowledge Crystal reports and experience developing reports; ability to operate and trouble shoot multi-media equipment.
- Additionally, you must remain up to date on current legislation, including, but not limited to, Ontario Human Rights Code, AODA, Occupational Health and Safety Act, plus various construction and building codes as they relate to training.
- Must successfully complete Subway/SRT Rule Book certification (including recertification as appropriate).
