Required Qualifications: A Journeyman certificate is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:Physically capable of lifting food, supplies and equipment up to 50lbs and must be able to push/pull meal carts up to 250lbs. This position requires you to walk and stand on your feet for the duration of your shift. Basic knowledge of and experience with computer applications. All new employees must be able to attend 1 day of Food Services' new employee orientation and complete necessary training on each unit. Good command of English language, both verbal and written and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Strong customer service skills, including the ability to interact with everyone in a respectful manner. Ability to read and follow diet reports and work in a sanitary manner. Ability to demonstrate responsible judgement in problem solving. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. Strong time management and organizational skills to be able to manage workload. A proactive approach to problem-solving and conflict resolution within the team. Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:Kitchen duties: food preparation, portioning and labeling food, cooking, baking, cleaning kitchen areas, dining areas, and equipment, dishwashing, preparing meals, beverages, sandwiches, salads and snacks, peeling and chopping vegetables. Dining Room duties: greeting the residents, serving meals and beverages, setting and clearing tables, assisting residents at the buffet table as needed, assisting with meal attendance checks, and other site-specific duties as assigned.
