Job Description


We are seeking a talented and passionate Cook to join our culinary team in Mississauga, Canada. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes efficiently and consistently while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

  • Prepare, cook, and plate a variety of menu items according to restaurant standards and specifications
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring proper use and cleanliness
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Assist in inventory management and stock rotation
  • Follow recipes accurately and consistently to maintain food quality and presentation standards
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment
  • Contribute to menu planning and suggest improvements when appropriate
  • Maintain a customer-focused approach, ensuring guest satisfaction through high-quality food preparation

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a cook in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Proficiency in various culinary techniques and food preparation methods
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
  • Excellent understanding of food safety and sanitation practices, including Canadian food safety regulations
  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school diploma or certificate preferred
  • Valid Food Handler's Certificate
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and manage time effectively in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong multitasking skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and consistency
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Knowledge of menu planning and portion control
  • Ability to work in a diverse team environment
  • Basic math skills for recipe conversions and inventory management
