Position: Line Cook
Location: 1585 barrington st - Lotus Kitchen & Bar – Noodle Waroom, Halifax

Staff training is expected to begin in late May, with a soft opening planned for June.

About the Role:
Lotus Kitchen & Bar is seeking dependable, detail-oriented Line Cooks to join our kitchen team. If you take pride in preparing high-quality food, thrive in a fast-paced kitchen, and want to grow with a creative and modern Asian concept, we’d love to meet you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables and butchering meat
- Cook and plate menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen workspace, including basic dishwashing and cleaning tasks
- Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures at all times
- Monitor food stock levels and report shortages to the chef or manager
- Support kitchen prep, restocking, and opening/closing duties as needed
- Work cooperatively with other kitchen and service team members to ensure smooth operations
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen; Asian or Chinese cuisine experience is a strong asset
- Passion for food and attention to detail in both prep and presentation
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Valid food handling certification (Food Safe, SafeCheck, or equivalent)
- Language: English is required; Mandarin is a strong asset
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
