Job Description: We are looking for a talented Writer/Editor who is obsessed with the internet, knows what's trending, and can turn amazing content around quickly. The position requires flexibility as you will be working on various types of content styles and ad copy.
Responsibilities:
-Pitching new story ideas that will appeal to our target reader.
-Creating article content.
-Create Facebook Ad Copy for Media Buying Operation
-Writing funny, snappy headlines to accompany each article.
-Scheduling content on social media and www.roughmaps.com.
-Ensure all published content meets quality standards and brand guidelines.
-Designing the creatives (thumbnails) that we will use to distribute our content.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A degree in journalism, communications, media, or a related field.
- Excellent proofreading, editing, and copywriting skills.
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
Nice to haves:
- Experience working with WordPress.
-In-depth knowledge of SEO best practices.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
- A very strong understanding of the internet and social media trends.
- Advanced with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat.
Note- this is a full-time, remote position, with 1-week training in Toronto, ON.
