We have an exciting opportunity for a creative and plant-passionate Content Creator to join our Marketing Team in Aldergrove, BC. If you love plants and know how to tell stories that grow engagement, this role is for you!
Reporting to the Digital Marketing Supervisor, you will support and execute promotional campaigns across our digital platforms. You’ll collaborate closely with our Operations, Communications, and Advertising teams to craft meaningful content that reflects the beauty of our nursery and the expertise of our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write creative and informative captions for Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest that reflect our brand and educate our followers
- Collaborate with nursery staff to highlight seasonal plants, care tips, arrivals, and events
- Create short-form content like “Plant of the Week” features, garden how-tos, or myth-busting plant facts
- Develop and maintain a monthly content calendar aligned with planting seasons and nursery promotions
- Engage with the online community by responding to comments or DMs with friendly, plant-savvy replies
- Occasionally assist with longer-form blog content or email newsletter copy
Who You Are:
- A strong writer with a friendly, engaging tone and excellent grammar
- Passionate about plants—with hands-on experience in gardening, indoor plants, or horticulture
- Comfortable writing for a small business audience (gardeners, DIYers, families)
- Familiar with what drives engagement on social platforms (reels, hashtags, user-generated content)
- Can take direction from a nursery manager or marketing lead and turn it into compelling copy
- Bonus: You have photography skills or can work closely with someone who does
Requirements:
- Proven experience writing for social media (portfolio or samples appreciated)
- General knowledge of plant care: soil, watering, sunlight, pruning, etc.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Local knowledge of regional climate and planting seasons is a plus
