Position Summary:
Carstar Summit GM, part of the respected Kaizen Automotive Group, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Collision Paint Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality refinishing on vehicles following collision repair. Working in a state-of-the-art facility, you'll play a key role in restoring vehicles to pre-accident condition while meeting manufacturer standards and customer expectations.
The Collision Paint Technician is responsible for ensuring quality standards are met through precise, methodical work and a high degree of patience. A keen eye for color is essential, as accurate color matching is critical to the success of the role. Cleanliness and attention to detail are paramount—not only in achieving a flawless paint finish but also in maintaining a clean, organized workspace and properly cleaning and maintaining tools. This position requires a strong commitment to craftsmanship and superior quality of work.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare vehicles for paint, including sanding, masking, and priming surfaces
- Mix and apply paint to match vehicle colors and manufacturer specifications
- Inspect surfaces for flaws and ensure a consistent, high-quality finish
- Operate spray guns, drying lamps, and other painting equipment
- Collaborate with body technicians and estimators to ensure a smooth workflow
- Follow OEM repair procedures, industry regulations, and environmental guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness of paint booth, tools, and prep areas
- Stay current with industry trends, tools, and refinishing techniques
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in automotive collision refinishing
- Proficiency in paint mixing, blending, and color matching
- Familiarity with waterborne and low-VOC paint systems preferred
- High attention to detail, precision, and patience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
