About the position:
We are seeking a cloud-savvy candidate interested in becoming a valued member of our cyber community!
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Cyber Architecture, you will join a team tasked with assessing, developing, and implementing security architecture designs to meet the cyber resiliency standards of internal and external facing Bank products and programs.
What you will do:
As a Cloud Security Architect, you will:
- Guide IT Cyber Security team and our internal product development communities through risk management and cyber assessments.
- Design and guide implementation of secure architectures for Azure-based workloads aligned to internal security standards.
- Establish frameworks to measure and report on the cyber risk and resiliency of critical components to the Canadian Financial System.
- Collaborate with business groups to conduct cyber assessments and threat modelling.
- Research and monitor emerging technologies (e.g. GenAI), cloud security trends, and the changing threat landscape.
- Contribute to the evolution of our Cyber Security Risk processes, tools, and standards.
- Develop implementation guidelines and procedures for secure cloud workloads.
What you need to succeed
You are a collaborative team player and self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, evolving environment. You bring your strong understanding of cloud security and enterprise architecture.
In addition, you have:
Experience in:
- Developing and implementing security policies and security standards, especially in cloud environments.
- Performing or involved in security assessments (vendors and solutions), including translating into cyber risk governance and risk management systems and process.
- Architecture design tools and techniques (threat modelling, reference architectures).
Knowledge of:
- Enterprise architecture & risk management frameworks (e.g. TOGAF, SABSA)
- Cyber Security standards such as: NIST 800-53, ISO 27001/27002, SOC 2
- Key security domains: IAM, Zero Trust, DLP, vulnerability and threat management,
- Tool and techniques to secure cloud-based workloads
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in a financial, banking, and/or payments environment
- Hands-on experience with cloud security (Azure preferred, such as Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, Sentinel)
- CISSP, CISA, CRISC, CCSA, AZ-500
Your education and experience
Your combined education and work experience demonstrate that you have the proficiencies and skills for the role. We are ideally seeking candidates with a relevant degree/diploma and 5+ years of relevant experience.
Language requirement
The Bank’s work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada’s official languages - English and French. Although the position language requirement is English or French essential, we do encourage everyone to improve second their language proficiency for future career growth and to contribute towards fostering a bilingual environment.

Hybrid Work Model
The Bank offers work arrangements that provide employees with flexibility, enable high-performing teams, and support an excellent workplace culture. Most employees can telework from home for a substantial part of each month as part of the Bank`s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of eight days per month to help build connections between colleagues. - Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $124,279 to $146,211 (job grade 18)
- The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at 7 to 10% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (5%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
