Position: Clinical Resource Dietitian - Temporary Independent Contractor
Start Date: July 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025 with potential to continue longer
Hours: Approx. 60 hours per month
Location: Hybrid Remote and On-Site for the Hamilton to Niagara Region
Rate: $45 per hour plus mileage greater than 30km one-way
About the Role:
Orange Lily Group is seeking a passionate and collaborative Clinical Resource Dietitian to join our team. The Clinical Resource Dietitian is a new pilot position within Orange Lily Group. This is a unique opportunity to grow into a support role for our community of dietitians, participating in the development and quality of our clinical nutrition services across long-term care (LTC) homes.
The Clinical Resource Dietitian will play a key role in assisting the Director of Clinical Excellence with temporary short-term clinical coverages and maintaining quality assurance programs within Orange Lily Group. This role also offers the chance to be involved in new and evolving nutrition-related projects.
This role is split into two key responsibilities during the pilot, with hours divided between quality assurance and coverage support, and can vary depending on demand.
Quality Assurance
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives internally and externally with guidance from Director of Clinical Excellence
- Collaborate with home interdisciplinary teams to support consistent, high-quality care
- Assist the Director of Clinical Nutrition Excellence with resource development as needed
Short-Term Temporary Coverages
- Assist with short-term coverage for RD services within region’s LTC homes
- Opportunity to gain understanding of client needs and support quality initiatives
- Assist in providing on-site orientation using OLG training methods and resources
Qualifications:
- Registered Dietitian with current membership in the College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO)
- Proof of professional liability insurance
- Minimum 1 year experience in long-term care (LTC)
- Demonstrated expertise in quality improvement initiatives
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Personable, supportive, and effective in mentoring peers
- Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability to evolving priorities
- Ability to travel short distances up to 1 hour one-way within Hamilton and Niagara if support is needed on-site
