Role Overview
Teck is looking for an experienced Clerk, Accounts Payable to join our team at our Trail Operations, one of the world's largest fully integrated zinc and lead smelting and refining complexes. Reporting to the Accountant, the Clerk, Accounts Payable (temporary) is accountable for processing invoices for Trail Operations and resolving unpaid invoice problems. This role is based in the welcoming community of Trail, situated in the beautiful West Kootenay region of southeastern British Columbia. Here you will find outdoor adventure at your fingertips! Please note this role does require the successful candidate to live within 100KM of Trail. British, Columbia.
Key Responsibilities
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Utilize various on-line systems to process invoices
- Process vendor invoices for payment
- Resolve invoice issues as required
- Perform reconciliations related to contractor invoices
- Perform miscellaneous stenographic duties for the group
Qualifications
- Completion of a Business Diploma, or equivalent experience. Preference given to those with accounting experience
- Candidates must be knowledgeable in the use of the JD Edwards Systems Accounts Payable module
- A thorough knowledge of numerous data entry formats and codes coupled with basic knowledge of federal and provincial tax, procurement and invoicing procedures, filing systems, cost code systems and organizational structure of Trail Operations is necessary
- Accuracy while processing a heavy workload to strict deadlines is required

Pay Range: 38.24/hr
The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
