Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across various routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to work independently while adhering to all regulations and company policies.
Duties
- Operate and drive heavy trucks to transport freight to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling of materials.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle service, and cargo information.
- Communicate with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered on the road.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while ensuring the safety of oneself and others on the road.
- Utilize forklift equipment for loading/unloading as needed.
- Perform basic automotive repairs and maintenance on the truck when necessary.
- Operate heavy equipment as required for specific deliveries or tasks.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
- Familiarity with freight handling procedures and logistics operations is preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts or other heavy equipment is a plus.
- Background in automotive repair can be beneficial for maintaining vehicle performance.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to transportation and freight handling.
