CIMA+’s Infrastructure team combines top-notch skills with an intimate understanding of the local community to deliver customized infrastructure services for municipalities and real-estate developers. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil 3D Designer who will play a key role in leading and executing design tasks for water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, pipelines, and related systems. The role will be based in our Vancouver, BC office.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and manage the design and drafting activities for water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, and storage facilities.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet functional requirements and regulatory standards.
- Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, and MicroStation for drafting, modeling, and generating detailed technical drawings and 3D models for water and wastewater projects.
- Ensure that all deliverables comply with relevant codes, standards, and project specifications, and implement quality assurance procedures throughout the design process.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technologists and CAD designers, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
- Review shop drawings and other contractor submittals for compliance with construction documents.
- Perform field surveys for condition assessments, drawing developments, site reviews and recorded drawings.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or diploma in Civil or Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the design and drafting of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Proficient in using AutoCAD, Revit, and MicroStation for creating detailed designs, layouts, and 3D models of water and wastewater facilities.
- Excellent ability to review and assess designs for accuracy and consistency.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
The expected salary for this position is from $70,000 to $92,000 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills and internal equity. The position or associated salary could vary depending on the profile of the candidate.
