NEC Native Education College is a large private Indigenous college in Vancouver and works with First Nations and Aboriginal organizations to deliver programs in locations throughout British Columbia. The instructor will report to the Indigenous Early Childhood Education Program Manager regarding student progress and course delivery. The instructor is required to provide student support, teach at least one course, including assessment, evaluation of students’ learning process, and assist with curriculum development and planning, including online Moodle development and other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
Any combination of education and work experience as follows will be considered:
•Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred)
•Certificate, diploma or degree and two years of related work experience and 10 years of work experience in an occupation relevant to the course
•At least one year instructor or teaching experience in related field and preferably in a post-secondary environment
•Excellent verbal, written and computer communication skills
•Knowledge of Indigenous values, communities, and instructional methodology, and experience working with Indigenous organizations and Indigenous adults
•Knowledge about assessment for learning and assessment of learning from an Indigenous lens
•Experience navigating Moodle is a must
•Curriculum development and lesson planning are a priority

Appointment to this part-time casual, contract position will require a formal criminal record check, the details of which may preclude finalizing an offer of employment. Hours: 6 hours/week/class, plus non-contact time
Salary: $39.56/hour as per Collective Agreement
