Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Helper to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in various kitchen tasks, ensuring a smooth and efficient food preparation process. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness while supporting the kitchen staff in delivering quality meals to our guests.
Duties
- Assist in food preparation by washing, chopping, and measuring ingredients as directed by the cook or chef.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
- Help with meal preparation by assembling ingredients and following recipes as needed.
- Ensure all food handling practices comply with food safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Support the kitchen staff during busy service periods by delivering prepared items to the cooking stations.
- Assist in inventory management by checking supplies and reporting shortages to the supervisor.
- Participate in maintaining a clean and sanitary workspace, including sweeping and mopping floors as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety standards is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn new skills related to meal preparation and cooking techniques.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform tasks that may require lifting or moving heavy items.
