The Cash Allocation Associate is responsible for the day-to-day financial transactions, including cash receipts, intercompany transfers, customer direct deposit forms, customer account statement reconciliations and other transactional issues. The Cash Allocation Associate must exercise discretion in executing essential functions to the business and be able to work independently, following through on assignments with minimal direction.

In a typical day, YOU will:
- Application of cash receipts, either as cheques, credit cards or cash and their accompanying payment advice to ensure proper posting and matching of customer payments. While cash receipts often apply automatically using Blackline, when it does not, this role must investigate to find the right allocation and ensure adherence to company policy.
- Work with internal and external customers providing guidance around the cash application process, researching queries and investigate exceptions when inaccurate and incomplete information is sent.
- Reconcile cash sale accounts for various branch locations.
- Administer ad-hoc requests from the business, including but not limited to completing customer direct deposit forms, recording CAT funding transactions, investigating if match reversal requests are required.
- Respond to credit managers inquiries and external customers in a timely manner – exhibiting superior customer service (telephone or e-mail)
- Assists in matching requests from Credit Managers and determine if in-line with company policy
Must-haves for this role:
- Post Secondary Education or equivalent work experience in an office and/or accounting environment
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail with a good knowledge of mathematics
- Solid data entry skills with the ability to multi-task in a deadline driven culture
- A team player with excellent communication, organizational and problem solving skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook at an intermediate level
